About eight years ago, Barlow had a very complicated knee replacement surgery, sidelining him for many months.While sitting in bed recovering, he came to the conclusion that he was going to hop back on the officiating horse and do it bigger and better than the first time.

When Barlow was in his mid20s he started officiating. However, he quickly became a successful entrepreneur and realized that the limited time wouldn’t allow growth or perfection, so he gracefully bowed out to concentrate on family and business.
